Luke Liddy - Back Door Rain

CD Capsule Review

Jul 25, 2012

Luke Liddy has created a relaxing, laid-back little CD. The cover art features photographs of serene fields and trees, and the six tracks within go nicely against this backdrop. Luke has a soft, country-rock sound. The tracks are clean, the backup band and supporting vocals are nicely produced. Luke brings to mind a little bit of Margaritaville combined with JD Souther. I can almost imagine the Eagles recording his songs - they have a “Best of My Love” / “New Kid in Town” feel. Luke could definitely open for Jimmy Buffett. He has that, "I got all day, I don't have a care in the world" kind of feeling in his music. This CD creates a completely stress-free zone if you want to pop something in your CD player to kick back and chill.
