Lyle Lovett

February 18, 2008

Posted by Kimmy Sophia Brown

When I lived in Virginia Beach I listened to a radio station that no longer exists called “The Coast”. The owner was from Texas and even though it was basically an alternative rock station, sometimes my favorite DJ at the time, Kristin Croot, would play artists from Texas. A favorite recording she played many times was Lyle Lovett’s song, “Church”, kind of a humorous, gospel song about getting hungry while the preacher preaches too long.

I just heard Lyle Lovett in concert this month and he does not disappoint. See my MusicViews column, “Lyle Lovett on the Cayamo Cruise”.

Some of the songs he performed are on his newest album; “It’s not big it’s large”.
