Polly is Peter's mother. She was an artist and art teacher in Portland, Maine. She taught at the Portland School of Fine and Applied Art, and subsequently co-founded an art school in Portland, called "Concept".

Polly passed away from lung cancer, in 1983 and is sorely missed.
